Decision support for leaders operating in high-stakes, ambiguous environments
I work with a small number of executives, founders, investors, senior leaders, and operators facing complex decisions where the path forward is unclear, the stakes are meaningful, and conventional playbooks fall short. The goal is not certainty — it is sound judgment under pressure.
Leaders today operate in environments shaped by uncertainty, competing incentives, incomplete information, and constant pressure to move decisively. The challenge is usually not capability or intelligence, but the absence of a trusted environment in which difficult decisions can be examined clearly and deliberately.
What I Do
I provide strategic advisory and decision support to leaders navigating uncertainty, growth, organizational pressure, and strategic inflection points. This is not traditional coaching. And it is not management consulting. The relationship is designed to function as an ongoing sounding board for consequential decisions as they evolve in real time.
The work is focused on helping leaders pressure test important decisions; identify hidden assumptions and second-order effects; think clearly in ambiguous environments; navigate risk, timing, and organizational dynamics; maintain perspective and composure under pressure; sharpen judgment when conditions are imperfect and incentives are competing.
Who I Work With
I work selectively with executives leading through ambiguity and organizational complexity; operators managing sensitive, fast-moving, or unconventional situations; founders navigating growth, transition, or strategic inflection points; investors operating in uncertain or high-stakes environments; senior leaders carrying significant responsibility in rapidly evolving environments.
How I Work
Most relationships are structured as simple monthly retainers designed around continuity, trust, and sustained strategic perspective rather than transactional consulting engagements. Some clients prefer a lighter cadence with periodic strategic conversations. Others prefer a closer advisory relationship with more frequent interaction and real-time access as situations evolve. The work is intentionally selective and designed around depth, discretion, continuity of context, and clarity of thought over time.
No newsletters. No mentorship. Just a discreet sounding board for complex decisions.
My perspective is informed by more than 25 years spent operating in complex international environments requiring judgment, discretion, relationship management, and decision-making under pressure — frequently without complete information and often under rapidly evolving conditions.
As a career national security professional, I have directly advised senior government leaders, including multiple Ambassadors and Combatant Commanders. That experience shaped a practical approach to leadership grounded in composure, pattern recognition, strategic clarity, and the ability to think deliberately in ambiguous environments where outcomes matter.
Today, the practice is focused entirely on supporting private-sector leaders navigating complexity in business, investment, and organizational environments.
